Tulsi Sana

Tulsi Sana Holistic Health

Who is behind Tulsi Sana? I chose the name 'Tulsi Sana' because it reflects my love and respect for Ayurveda which is an ancient Indian applied branch of holistic medicine (The term Ayurveda is derived from the Sanskrit words Ayur (life) and Veda science or knowledge) Tulsi is derived from Holy Basil. The holy basil plant is sacred in the Hindu religion. Sana means ''brilliant, praise'' in Hindi.

My non-business name is Kim Hunter. A 38-year-old mother of 2 that has personally been on a very arduous journey of overcoming severe autoimmune disease, PTSD, anxiety, and depression. When you see me today in my beautiful farm cottage, my handmade apothecary unit proudly displayed on my kitchen wall, it's a far cry from who I was a few years ago when I was constantly at the GP surgery suffering from health anxiety, depression, and a host of physical ailments. Having suddenly lost our 1st born son in July 2015 to a seizure when he was just 2 years old, I became suffocated by grief and exhaustion that spun a web of numerous physical, emotional, and spiritual disease (or, as is referred to in Ayurvedic medicine - 'DisEase'). I suffered from flare-ups of Glandular fever, and my immune system became compromised from the heavy stress that affected my physical and mental wellbeing. Western medicine tends to focus only on physical symptoms, and not the root cause of illness. So, having been offered only limited 'treatment' such as anti-depressants and anti-anxiety medications that came with a whole host of nasty side effects, I found myself in a vicious cycle of my mental health affecting my physical health and vice versa. I changed Doctors, and when I'd exhausted each Doctor at my registered surgery, I changed surgery! Then, once again, I found myself in the same perpetual pattern of helplessness, with not a single Doctor being able to offer me the help I needed to heal. I sought Psychotherapy which helped initially but never was I advised how important gut health plays a vital, integral part in our mental health. I never forget the day a friend offered me a book about healing with nutrition and herbs, and suddenly, it was as if many of the answers I'd been searching for were presented to me! That was about 3 years ago since I embarked on my own self-healing journey and I've gone from feeling constantly exhausted with no motivation for life, to recently completing my Medical Astrology in Herbalism Diploma alongside Ayurvedic and Western nutrition, and I have more energy now than I did 10 years ago. I feel more empowered than ever, and I feel it is my soul purpose to help you on your healing journey.

“As above, so below, as within, so without, as to the universe, so the soul…”

I can have an appointment with Kim, and it's like talking to a friend. You're welcomed with a cup of herbal tea based on your profile, and there's no rush to see you out the door.

Kim is very down to earth. She will tell you honestly of her own struggles that completely places you at ease. There's no ego or expectation of high consultation fees.

I have been going back and forth to the GP's for what I thought was IBS issues. Speaking with Kim, I was finally able to understand how my stress and diet was causing me discomfort.
