Herbal Consultation

''Healing is a matter of time, but it is sometimes also a matter of opportunity.''

Dried herbs I currently stock (most of my herbs are certified organic unless otherwise stated) I hold a health and safety certificate that was renewed in 2020. My jars are sterilised prior to refilling and are sealed for freshness.

Elderflower, Meadowsweet, Oregano, Licorice Root, White Willow Bark, Devil's Claw, Aniseed, Slippery Elm, Cayenne, Black Pepper, Asafoetida, Pau D' Arco, Ceylon 'True' Cinnamon, Fennel Seed, Sage, Thyme, Valerian.

**I also stock quality CBD oils direct from cbDNA with a discount on regular website pricing. Please take a look at the information on my page CBD benefits, and you can find the direct link to cbDNA on the ''CBD You Can Trust'' page.**

Dandelion, Chamomile, Lemon Verbena, Lemon Balm, Star Anise, Yarrow, Calendula, Hyssop, Holy Basil, Olive Leaf, Neem, Red Clover, Passion Flower, Hops, Avens Oat Straw, Mugwort, Marshmallow Root, Damiana, Coltsfoot, St.John's Wort, Cleavers, Nettle, Rosemary, Lavender, Burdock, Eleuthero (Siberian Ginseng), Agrimony, Angelica Root, White horehound, Eucalyptus, Peppermint and Mint.

**I also stock comfrey, but due to many reports of possible liver damage in large quantities, comfrey by mouth isn't recommended. It can be considered unsafe, due to the pyrrolizidine alkaloids that comfrey contains. Therefore, I will only be using it in homemade massage oil for inflammation.**

During your first consultation, we will build up a picture of you and your health. We might discuss the nature, onset, and progression of your complaint, as well as any investigations you have had to date.

This could look at:

allergies

medical history

family history

treatment history (including prescriptions and any over the counter products)

social history (such as smoking, alcohol, exercise and social life)

diet

Your individual treatment plan will include herbal remedies and, where appropriate, dietary changes or nutritional supplements. Most herbal medicines are given in the form of a liquid tincture that is taken in 5ml doses of two or three times daily. You may also be recommended a herbal tea, tablets, ointment, cream or lotion.

After the initial consultation, three or four shorter consultations are usually necessary to assess your progress, followed by check-ups every three to six months, depending on the nature of your condition. Because herbal medicines work in a gentle and subtle way, they can take longer to work than orthodox drugs, but their effects are long lasting and there should be no side effects.

**Disclaimer**

As a herbal practitioner, I can advise on herbs and therapies but I am not medically trained to dispense licensed drugs.

Holistic Plan

A holistic approach means to provide support that views you as a whole person, not just your physical or mental state. Each person will have a different experience of 'disease' and mental health. A path to recovery is influenced by your age, background, gender, diet, exercise, culture, heritage, relationship status, life experience faith and beliefs. Change, like healing, takes time.

Complementary Care

Complementary therapies offer a different approach to conventional or mainstream medicine. They include therapies that aren’t usually part of conventional medical care that can include herbal medicine, homeopathy, aromatherapy, reflexology, and gentle exercise such as yoga. They are usually used alongside, or as well as, conventional therapies. I focus primarily on herbal remedies, diet, and nutrition.

Making Your Medicine

I can offer advice and formulate a wellness plan that includes herbal tinctures and medicinal teas that you can infuse at home. Teas can be very helpful if you struggle to find the time to relax, or find time for yourself. Who doesn't love a relaxing cuppa to sip on whilst reading a book, watching a documentary or sat in the garden on a sunny day? Teas are especially helpful for children and for sleep issues.

Scheduling Your Clinic Visit

The power of holistic herbalism is that plants not only heal disease, but can prevent it from ever taking root, creating a paradigm of medicine based not just on treating disease, but preventing it by promoting health on all levels. Herbalism is for everyone and can help both acute and chronic conditions.

Astroherbology is the art of using astrological wisdom to inform and influence medicinal and magickal herb and wellness choices. The practice of medical astrology has been around as long as we have been practicing medicine but the form of medical astrology practiced in the west was formalised in ancient Greece (Ayurvedic and Traditional Chinese Medicine practices, too, have been around for thousands of years). Being newly qualified with a diploma is just the beginning of where my own research and knowledge will grow over the course of my life. I aim to study towards a degree in master herbalism and continue to learn therapies that have all been forgotten in Western medicine practice. With average 'alternative' practitioner fees costing anywhere between £45 - £75, I personally struggled to afford these costs when I was desperate for help. I therefore offer a full face to face consultation for just £30 which will include a warming Peruvian Organic Cacao upon arrival, or medicinal herbal brew, and 5-7 days worth of recommended herbal medicine. Telephone consultations cost just £25 and will cover a full assessment of your needs (herbal medicine will need to be purchased separately, but I will continue to guide you through dosage and follow up) I aim to help you towards healing and overall client satisfaction that I have met your needs. I trust that you understand I too have a young family, and my herbs cost money, so I am not making much of a living wage other than to restock the apothecary,
